about me
Mark Tenney
I lead people in worship of God for Newark Church of the Nazarene. I live in Newark, Ohio about 20 minutes east of Columbus, and I am doing my best to raise two beautiful girls with my amazing wife. I believe that the Church should put forth every effort to communicate the message of Christ with relevance and excellence. I am privileged to be able to lead a group of musicians each week, to work with a strong team of staff and other worship leaders, and to serve in a church that has a clear vision for ministry. My church is a multi-site church, with one broadcast venue and two video venues. Mine is a video venue. The Firehouse is literally an old fire station that Newark Naz purchased and renovated as a worship venue. The original intention waste use it as a overflow for the Williams Street campus, which is two blocks away, but the idea soon materialized into the multi-site concept. I love to play electric guitar and learn about tone, signal flow, and technique. I also give private guitar lessons, and love to help people understand their guitar rigs and how to best utilize them in the context of corporate worship. I also enjoy technology and can fix most computer problems with enough time and access to Google. I’m a fan of all things Apple, and I enjoy using my MacBook and Ableton Live to fire loops and click tracks for our band at The Firehouse.
